Then said he unto them, “Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.”Matthew 13:52 (KJV)
Public-Domain Texts, Freely Available
This library gathers texts that are in the public domain: the Holy Scriptures and the writings of the early Church and of other ancient Christian authors. When a publication on this site cites one of these works, the reader can find and read the full text here, without searching elsewhere on the internet or relying on the website of any particular church body.
Each text appears in an edition that already exists in its own language and is free of copyright. The edition and its source are stated with every work, so that any reader may check it. The Bishop translates only his own writings; he does not translate the works in this library. For that reason the library in each language holds only what has already been published in that language, and some languages may have no texts at all.
Works are added over time. All are offered freely, as the Gospel was freely given.
